Students will no longer be admitted into the Bachelor of Arts in Recreation, Sport, and Tourism Management with General Education Emphasis or Outdoor and Adventure Education Emphasis beginning Fall 21. Students should discuss program options with an advisor in the College of Science, Technology, and Health.

The Recreation, Sport and Tourism Management program promotes healthy lifestyles in society by developing your understanding and ability to plan, organize, and facilitate challenging and rewarding recreation and leisure experiences in preparation for future careers in leisure services.

You will learn about human behavior, public policy, social issues, and how to manage facilities and resources to enhance the quality of life for individuals and communities. As a recreation, sport, and tourism management student, you will gain the knowledge and skills needed for entry-level positions in private, nonprofit, and public recreation organizations on the local, state/regional, and national/federal level as well as be prepared for further study in graduate school in a variety of disciplines. Your skills and community connections will open doors to your professional career. These careers may include: Parks and recreation departments, community centers, outdoor recreation, fitness facilities, family recreation centers, travel and tourism, sport centers, and more. 

The degree program offers emphasis areas in general recreation and outdoor and adventure education.
