The Lindenwood University K-12 Matinée Series: Broadening young minds through the arts.
The J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts is proud to present the Lindenwood University K-12 Matinée Series!
We welcome you to these professional performances to enhance your curriculum and benefit your students both inside and outside the classroom. Study guides available for select performances.
Experiencing live theater offers a range of academic, social, and emotional benefits to children and young adults. Being exposed to theater and the arts at a young age aids in developmental growth. This is done by developing a child’s ability to understand the lives of others and fostering a deeper sense of compassion and tolerance. Exposure to live theater also impacts the success of young people while shaping their future as a more self-aware, compassionate, and empathetic generation of leaders and citizens. In fact, research indicates that children who engaged with the performing arts had a more optimistic outlook towards their future, helping them to imagine attending college and envisioning their own success. Not to mention the impact on their success with increased scores on standardized tests and writing.
Interested in extending your time on Lindenwood University’s campus? We can arrange for tours, lunch in the dining hall, or lunch in one of our beautiful outdoor spaces. Please inquire during reservation process.
