Where is Lindenwood University?

Lindenwood is located in St. Charles, Missouri, a suburb just west of St. Louis, Missouri. We are near the center of the United States along the Mississippi River and experience all four seasons. Prepare and pack for every weather option between hot, humid summers and cold, icy winters.

Am I eligible for scholarships?

Lindenwood offers scholarships to both resident and commuter international students. Scholarship eligibility and amount is determined when we review complete applications for admission. View scholarship opportunities.

How do I get an I-20?

An I-20 will only be issued once a student has completed the admission process and has responded to the "You are Admitted" email stating that they accept the scholarship offer.  Once the response has been received the I-20 and admissions documents will be created and sent to the student.

How do I get a student visa?

Newly admitted students with a SEVIS ID number will need to pay the I-901 SEVIS fee, complete the DS-160 visa application, and schedule an appointment at the appropriate U.S. Embassy to apply for an F-1 visa. For more information, please see our Immigration and Visa Information page.

What is the enrollment deposit and how do I pay it?

The enrollment deposit is a deposit you make to confirm your attendance and become eligible to enroll in your courses. As a reminder, students are enrolled in courses on a first-come, first served basis. Enrollment deposits may be submitted through your student portal and are applied to your first semester of tuition.

Can I waive the English placement exam?

No. All international students are expected to prove English proficiency by receiving our minimum accepted score for either the ACT (undergraduates only), SAT (undergraduates only), TOEFL, or IELTS or Duolingo. Exceptions at the discretion of the Director, Office of Admissions & Services for International Students (OASIS). For more information visit International Admissions.

What is the math placement?

The math placement exam is used to place you in a mathematics course that is required for your program of study or into a mathematics course that will strengthen your mathematics skills.

Students transferring mathematics credits could be waived from their mathematics requirements if the course aligns with their degree’s mathematics requirements. If the transferred course does not satisfy their degree requirement, that individual will be placed in the appropriate mathematics course determined by that of the most recent mathematics course they successfully completed.

The mathematics placement exam is done through CANVAS.  You will receive an email from the Mathematics department with details on how to access the placement exam.  In the CANVAS course there are several practice exams that you can take prior to taking the placement exam.  You will need your login credentials to access CANVAS.

Where do I find my Lindenwood login credentials?

Students should receive an automated, no-reply, email with login credentials. Please check your spam and junk inbox folders. Please note on the email that you will receive from no-reply, states to use the last four digits of your SSN, however international students do not have a SSN the last four digits of the password are 1111.  If you did not receive it, please contact our IT Help Desk at HelpDesk@lindenwood.edu and include your full name with the request.

You will also receive an email from International Admissions once you have been admitted with your login credentials. 

Your login credentials/Username consist of your initials followed by three random numbers.

Username ID example: John Wayne Smith - JWS023

The password is in the following format: Two digit birth month, two digit birthday, 1111

Password example: Date of birth - March 15 - 03151111

Your Lindenwood email will consist of your username followed by @lindenwood.edu.

How do I reserve on-campus housing?

Only admitted students with confirmed visas will be able to reserve on-campus housing.  To reserve on-campus housing, students must create a profile on StarRez. For more information about housing please visit Residential Life.  Check out the Residential Halls and Non-Traditional Housing options. A nonrefundable $200 deposit is required.

What is CastleBranch?

CastleBranch is a third party vender who gathers immunization records.

Once you enroll in classes, then you will receive an email from Castle Branch providing you a link to an immunization portal. This link will allow you to easily upload your documents and track the status of your records being approved. Once you set up your account, then you will be able to download the TB Screening and the Meningococcal waiver.

How do I get my books?

You can view required books and materials in the Student Portal. When you view the class schedule or complete registration, there is a “Books” button that will bring you to the university Barnes & Noble bookstore and will show you the required books for the class you are considering.
