The Library’s Media Center in LARC 368 offers a wide range of software and technology to assist students in their endeavors. The Media Center aims to make available the technology and software used in many professional fields to Lindenwood University’s students, offering them the chance to improve their skills and to work on coursework and portfolio projects in a high tech environment.
The Media Center houses a computer lab with 12 PCs and 4 Macs, two of which are setup for audio and video recording in sound studios. The entire suite of Adobe Creative Cloud is available in the lab space, as well as additional niche software for graphic and infographic creation, including Avid Media Composer, Audacity, and Final Cut Pro. Other technology is also available for checkout, including Wacom drawing tablets and SD card readers. Additional technology is added each year. In the fall, expect to find digital point-and-shoot cameras, portable digital recorders, and Go Pro cameras.
The Media Center also houses the Lindenwood Library Game Center, home to a growing collection of Playstation 4 and Xbox One games, as well as an Oculus Rift, retro PC game collection, and a board, card and tabletop RPG collection. Beginning in the spring 2019, expect to find a new student designed game collection, created by students in the Lindenwood University Game Design program.
