Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Is there an application fee?
No, Lindenwood University does not charge an application fee for undergraduate or graduate applicants. We believe applying to college should be accessible and affordable for every student, and we’re committed to removing unnecessary barriers to your future success.
How long does it take to receive an admission decision?
Most applicants receive an admission decision within 2–3 business days after submitting a complete application and all required materials. Students can track their application status through the Lindenwood Application Portal and will be notified by email once a decision has been made.
Is Lindenwood test optional?
Yes! Lindenwood University is a test-optional institution that allows students to apply with or without standardized test scores. This policy stems from Lindenwood’s commitment to a holistic review of all applicants. Test optional allows us to consider a student’s strengths rather than focusing solely on their standardized test scores, as we know numbers rarely tell a student’s full story. Our goal is to open the door to quality education for individuals who may not otherwise qualify. We provide students with the choice of whether or not they wish to submit their ACT or SAT test scores as part of their application for admission to our institution.
What are the admission requirements for freshman applicants?
Lindenwood University uses a holistic review process for all freshman applicants. Requirements include a completed application (no fee), official high school transcripts, and optional ACT or SAT scores. Visit our Admissions Requirements page for the full checklist.
Does Lindenwood accept transfer credits?
Yes. Students can apply up to 90 hours of transfer credit from regionally accredited institutions toward their degree. Lindenwood will evaluate your official transcripts and provide an individual degree map to maximize the credits you’ve already earned. Articulation agreements with local community colleges also help streamline the process. Visit our Transfer Admissions page for more details.
What financial aid options are available?
Lindenwood University offers a variety of scholarships and grants for incoming freshman, transfer, and continuing students. Students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA to determine eligibility for federal aid. Additional options include alternative loans and payment plans. Use the Net Price Calculator to estimate your costs.
Does Lindenwood offer campus visits?
Yes! Lindenwood welcomes more than 6,500 visitors annually to its historic campus in Saint Charles, Missouri. You can schedule an in-person visit, explore a virtual tour, or attend a Discover Your Roar event. Contact the Admissions team to plan your visit.
Does Lindenwood offer military or veteran benefits?

The university offers undergraduate, graduate, and online degree programs designed for military personnel and veterans, as well as a dedicated Veterans Affairs Center on the St. Charles campus. Army and Air Force ROTC programs are also available. Learn more on our Military Services page.
