Shoppers packed the front entrance Wednesday as dignitaries cut the ribbon to open the much-anticipated Lindenwood Schnucks at University Commons. Schnucks employees wore Lindenwood caps, and the LU cheerleaders and mascot entertained the early-morning crowd.
While supporters of Lindenwood University-Belleville toured the improvements to the building and grounds of the West Main Street campus Wednesday, school leaders announced new additions to the school's programs and activities.
Symposium and Job Fair Scheduled for Sept. 2. At a time when the demand for information technology professionals is blossoming, Lindenwood University is adding a slate of new IT degrees in its accelerated evening program, LCIE. The new degree programs were approved in mid-July by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and will be available starting in the fall quarter of 2014, which begins Sept. 29.

Lindenwood University is offering students the opportunity to check in early before the beginning of the 2014 fall semester. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., July 1 through Aug. 1, students can visit specific administrative offices, collect verification that all requirements have been satisfied, and become eligible to check directly into the appropriate residential facility on their designed date or attend the first day of class on Monday, Aug. 25.
Belleville, Ill.- Lindenwood University-Belleville is scheduled to open in Collinsville, Ill., its first extension center in the fall of 2014. The campus will sign a five-year lease on 15,000 square feet of space located at 1101 Eastport Plaza Drive in Collinsville. The space will be used for undergraduate and graduate classes in the accelerated evening program, as well as graduate classes in education and professional counseling.
Lindenwood University announced Thursday that its new men's dorm building under construction on West Main Street across the street from its Belleville campus will be named in honor of donor Fred J. Kern.
