A star quarterback was about to set a state record. His coach made a “deal” with the opposing coach to guarantee the record was broken. But when the star quarterback found out about his coach’s prearranged “deal,” he respectfully turned down the chance to have his name associated with the record.

Mark Kern, newly elected County Board Chairman in St. Clair County, IL and a member of the Lindenwood University Board of Directors will be the guest speaker for the Lindenwood University’s 178th commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 14. Undergraduate and graduate degrees will be conferred on more than 2,250 students.

The 2005 program excellence award recognized Lindenwood’s top-flight preparation of nonprofit leaders for the workplace. Lindenwood was honored for thoroughness in course work, leadership, professional employment, marketing and fundraising, institutional support and relationships with nonprofits.
