The Plan to Reopen Campus

Roaring Return

Lindenwood University has implemented a phased return to campus and will begin the fall semester as scheduled on August 24. Lindenwood personnel and offices continue to be available for business by telephone and email. Lindenwood University in Belleville has announced it will be adding women’s volleyball this fall--the school’s inaugural year as a daytime college. Veronica Kirkpatrick is the new head coach for the Lynx volleyball program.

Julie Allen, Lindenwood University senior and St. Charles resident, recently placed second in the retail management competition of Delta Epsilon Chi’s (DECA) annual International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, Calif.

Lauren Doyle, a junior at Lindenwood University, recently won first place in a scholarship contest sponsored by the National Human Resource Association. Her awards included a $1,000 check, a full year of paid meeting dues, and an honorary plaque.

The Lindenwood University 2008-2009 Honors Convocation ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, in the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts. The ceremony recognizes top-performing students who have risen to the challenge of excelling in their academic pursuits.

Lindenwood University’s School of Fine and Performing Arts will present a concert by its a capella group Voices Only at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, at the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts.

Lindenwood University in Belleville, Ill., will host three performances of the “Branson on the Road” country and gospel tour on Friday, May 1, and Saturday, May 2. Shows are scheduled at 7 p.m. on both evenings and at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the school’s newly restored auditorium.

On Thursday, April 16, the Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs (IDVA) will conduct an informational seminar on the new GI Bill and other educational benefits available for veterans at Lindenwood University’s Belleville campus.

Lindenwood University’s Social Work Program has achieved a key accreditation from the Council on Social Work Education as the culmination of a process that spanned more than four years.

School of Arts, Media, and Communications

The Lindenwood University Communications Department will host a film and television camp this summer for high school students interested in learning production skills. Freshmen and sophomores are invited to attend camp daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 15-19. A camp session for juniors and seniors is scheduled from June 22-26.
