Lindenwood University is launching a new Doctor of Instructional Leadership program in cooperation with Ozarks Community College in Springfield, Mo. The new program, which has an emphasis in higher education administration, will be offered on the Ozarks Technical Community College campus and on the main Lindenwood University campus.
A new era in Lindenwood University athletics started today when the school was notified that it has been accepted into NCAA Division II candidacy.
Lindenwood University will host the St. Charles Optimist Club’s Third Annual 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, Sept. 25, to raise money for cancer research. All proceeds will locally benefit St. Louis Children’s Hospital, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and the Optimist International Childhood Cancer Campaign.
Lindenwood University–Belleville has scheduled four guest speakers during July. The presentations are part of the school’s 2010 Speaker Series and are free and open to the public. They also fulfill colloquium requirements for current LCIE students.
Lindenwood University is offering students the opportunity to check in early before the beginning of the 2010 fall semester. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 12-15, and from July 19-22, students can visit specific administrative offices, collect verification that all requirements have been satisfied, and become eligible to check directly into the appropriate residential facility or attend the first day of class on Monday, Aug. 23.
The Lindenwood University Theatre Department will present its summer production, Neil Simon’s Biloxi Blues at 7:30 p.m. on July 16, 17, 23 and 24 in the university’s Emerson Black Box Theater. Tickets for the production are $10 and are available at the Lindenwood University Box Office—636-949-4433.
Lindenwood University has expanded its course offerings to include new study abroad programs in Azerbaijan and Panama. The programs are in addition to existing opportunities in Costa Rica, France, and Germany, as well as European and Spanish-speaking destination trips.
Lindenwood University alumna Martha Ackmann will promote her new book, Curveball with a book signing and reading at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, at 6:00 p.m. at Butler Library on Lindenwood University’s campus (209 S. Kingshighway, St. Charles, MO 63301).
Lindenwood University will host a day-long “Grow Philanthropy Summit” July 29 for area non-profits, charitable organizations and local business owners and philanthropists to come together and discuss ways in which to better the community through philanthropic strategic partnerships.
The Lou Brock Golf Classic Sept. 27 at Bogey Hills Country Club will benefit athletic scholarships at Lindenwood University.
