Lindenwood University’s choirs, orchestra and jazz band will offer their fall concerts at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 16, 19 and 20, respectively,in the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts. Admission is free for all three concerts; the Scheidegger Center is located at 2300 West Clay Street, west of First Capitol Drive, in St. Charles.

Veterans of the United States military may be eligible to receive up to a $3,000 advance in education benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The offer is available to those who meet certain criteria under the Post-9/11 GI Bill.

Lindenwood University’s Third Annual Invitational History Bowl will conclude on live television Sunday night with a rematch between Fort Zumwalt West High School in O’Fallon and Bayless High School, which won the competition last year, in South St. Louis County.

The Lindenwood University 2009-2010 Speaker Series will continue with an appearance by renowned poets David Meltzer and Michael Rothenberg. The duo, who offer a glimpse at the phenomenon that is beat poetry, will speak and read from their work at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 23, at the Lindenwood University Cultural Center (400 N. Kingshighway in St. Charles, two blocks north of the main Lindenwood campus).

Lindenwood University-Belleville will host the workshop, “Strengths-Based Therapy with Adolescents and Families: Effective, Time-Sensitive Strategies,” from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15. Sponsored by Lindenwood’s Professional and School Counseling Continuing Education Program, the address will be delivered by Bob Bertolino, Ph.D., assistant professor of rehabilitation counseling at Maryville University in St. Louis.

Homecoming and Reunion 2009 was a big success with over 500 alumni in attendance. We welcomed alumni from every decade beginning in the 1930’s to the present and they traveled from Alabama, New York, California, Texas, Georgia, and New Hampshire to celebrate their honored class reunions!

The Lindenwood University Theatre Department will present the musical “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 11-14 in the university’s Emerson Black Box Theater.

The Lindenwood University History Department will host its third annual Lindenwood Invitational History Bowl the week of November 9, with the finals on Sunday, November 15.

More than 300 alumni, friends, students, and community leaders attended an anniversary celebration Wednesday for Lindenwood University's Belleville Campus, which included a groundbreaking for Lindenwood's new Welcome Center.

Lindenwood University fashion design graduate Dragana Jovic was named the top prize winner of Bakers’ “Project: Design!”competition during St. Louis Fashion Week. She was selected as recipient of the $30,000 prize package by a panel of judges from among six designers invited to show their collections during the event.
