This summer, Lindenwood University’s Nonprofit Administration program will hold a three-day Summer Youth Leadership Summit called the Lion’s Pride Project, designed for high school students who are interested in careers in the nonprofit sector.
Former St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist and local author Tom Wheatley has launched a new television show called “Sports Folks” on Lindenwood University’s high-definition cable television channel, LUTV. The 20-minute show features interviews with notable St. Louis sports figures and covers personal, professional, and sports literature topics.
Dr. Cindy Lovell, noted scholar on Mark Twain, will continue the Lindenwood University Speaker Series when she appears at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11, on the main Lindenwood campus in St. Charles. The event is free and open to the public.
Lindenwood University will host for the third year in a row a high school mathematics competition sponsored by the Mathematical Association of America. The free competition will take place at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10 on the Lindenwood campus.
Lindenwood University will host a grand opening and open house on Thursday, January 22, for its new site in Downtown St. Louis at 1409 Washington Ave.
Fran Noonan, St. Louis representative of the U.S. Peace Corps, will speak at 4 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, at Lindenwood University as part of the school’s 2008-2009 Speaker Series.
To enhance it growing international focus, Lindenwood University plans to launch in 2009 a Center for International and Global Studies that will be at the heart of an expanded international studies program designed to foster increased diversity and cultural awareness on the campus.
Lindenwood University has announced plans to offer daytime, semester-based programs at its Belleville campus. Currently, the campus is used exclusively for Lindenwood’s accelerated evening programs.
Lindenwood University will play host to the inaugural Partners for Progress FIRST Lego League Robotics Competition for middle school students. The competition will be from 8:30 a.m. until about 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13 in the Robert F. Hyland Performance Arena on Lindenwood’s main campus, located at 209 South Kingshighway in St. Charles.
Lindenwood University will host its annual Christmas Walk from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7. Sponsored by the Student Government Association, the free, family-centered event is open to the public and features holiday sights and activities for children of all ages.
