The university is once again sponsoring the Summer Rhythm and Music Series on the Lindenwood Belleville campus.
Dr. Roy Lantry, assistant professor of health management, visited health administrators in Cuba April 18-26 as part of a travel-abroad program through the American Public Health Association. One of 20 participants selected out of the association’s international membership, Lantry spent time with Cuba’s public health professionals, health policymakers, primary and secondary school students, and grassroots neighborhood organizations to learn more about why Cuba has one of the best medical infrastructures in the world.
Lindenwood University’s 2015-16 Speaker Series will feature six thought-provoking discussions by noted experts on viral disease, race, botany, feminism, Mideast politics, and zoology, the last of which, Jeff Corwin, will include some exotic animals as well.
Dr. Michael D. Shonrock began his tenure on June 1, 2015, as Lindenwood University’s 22nd president.
U.S. News and World Report’s 2015 ranking of online programs for veterans recognized Lindenwood University in several areas, including bachelor’s programs, graduate business programs, MBA, and graduate education programs.
On Thursday, May 21, Lindenwood University held a groundbreaking ceremony for its planned $21 million Library and Academic Resources Center. The three-story 100,000-square-foot facility will combine traditional library functions with a host of other student services and is scheduled to open in late 2016.
Since its inception in 1975, thousands of students have graduated from the Lindenwood University College for Individualized Education (LCIE). In celebration of the accelerated evening program and its successful alumni, Lindenwood will host the LCIE 40th Anniversary Outstanding Alumni Award Banquet on Thursday, Sept. 10, at the St. Charles Convention Center.
Dr. Grant Shostak has been named dean of Lindenwood University’s School of Human Services. Shostak has been director of the graduate criminal justice degree program at Lindenwood since 2012.
Lindenwood University freshman Savanah Bice has been elected as a member of the 2015-2016 Delta Epsilon Chi (DECA) collegiate executive officer team. Bice will serve as one of three executive vice presidents in the U.S. in support of the business organization’s mission and goals and will focus specifically on chapter and student recruitment.
Lindenwood University’s spring commencement exercises will be held on Friday, May 15, and Saturday, May 16, with more than 1,170 graduates slated to participate. More than 1,900 degrees will be conferred in the ceremonies.
