Lindenwood University has been recognized for the fourth time in the annual “Great Colleges to Work For” report assembled by the Chronicle of Higher Education. The results of the study were released in the Chronicle’s fifth annual report on “The Academic Workplace” and were derived from a survey of more than 46,000 employees at 294 colleges and universities in the United States.

Lindenwood Announces Director of Public Safety and Security
General

John Bowman, a law enforcement professional with nearly three decades of experience, has been hired as the new director of public safety and security at Lindenwood University. He is responsible for managing the department, developing and executing special event security plans, enforcing campus parking regulations, and addressing student and visitor concerns.

On August 28, Lindenwood University-Belleville will unveil its newest art exhibit, Olympic Retrospective: The Games, The Contests, and The Spirit on August 28. The exhibit will be open to the public from 1-5 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays and 10 a.m.- noon on Saturdays.

Specializing in literature of the Middle Ages, Dr. Erin Mann comes to Lindenwood University-Belleville from the University of Iowa. Mann earned both her master’s and doctorate in English from the University of Iowa and last year served as a visiting assistant professor there. Her teaching interests include sexuality and gender studies, Shakespeare, and Biblical and religious literature and art, to name a few.

Ashley Pollock, adjunct professor of history, guest lectured at Harvard University on July 10 in Cambridge, Mass., for the world history course From Cold War to Global Terror: World History from 1945 to the present.

Dr. Amani Ismail comes to Lindenwood - Belleville’s Communications Department from the American University in Cairo, Egypt, where she has served as assistant professor of journalism and mass communications since 2009. Ismail was previously an assistant professor of journalism at California State University, Northridge and an instructor at the University of Iowa, where she earned her PhD.

Lindenwood University alumnus Martin Linson has the honor of being the first competitor to have won a gold medal in the 2012 Olympic Games. He was awarded top prize in the International Olympic Committee Art Competition for his sculpture, "Omnipotent Triumph."

Rachel Lamp Selected as Institutional Advancement Associate
General

Lindenwood University has hired Rachel Lamp as its new Institutional Advancement Associate. She provides support in planning and executing alumni and development special events and assists with solicitation activities.

Lindenwood University has named Elizabeth King director of alumni relations. A two-time alumna of the university, King previously served as an advancement associate at Lindenwood, a position she started in August 2011.
