An event slated for the evening of Wednesday, May 4, at Lindenwood University featuring author and Navy SEAL Eric Greitens has been cancelled due to a deluge of new demands on Greitens' time in the wake of the Sunday's military action that resulted in the death of Osama Bin Laden. The event has not been rescheduled at this time.

Tara Brandley, graduate assistant in student services at Lindenwood University-Belleville, has been selected to be the campus’ first director of student housing, effective May 1.

Lindenwood University will present its Break Music Festival at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 2, in the Hyland Arena on the main St. Charles campus. Performers will include The Ready Set, Hot Chelle Rae, and Eleventy Seven.

Lindenwood University’s inaugural Spring Into Service day on April 16, has been called by organizers a huge success, netting 291 service hours donated to nine area nonprofit, charitable, or government organizations by 83 volunteers from the Lindenwood community.

Lindenwood University will host a benefit Japanese Festival from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, April 15, in the Spellmann Center on the main St. Charles campus. The free event will feature demonstrations of Japanese cultural traditions to raise relief funds for Japanese earthquake and tsunami victims.

Lindenwood University has partnered with Domino’s Pizza to offer a promotion to raise funds to benefit student scholarships at the school. Through June 3, 2011, Domino’s will donate one dollar to Lindenwood for every pizza purchased at regular menu price with the use of a unique coupon code.
