Lindenwood University alumna Martha Ackmann will promote her new book, Curveball with a book signing and reading at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, at 6:00 p.m. at Butler Library on Lindenwood University’s campus (209 S. Kingshighway, St. Charles, MO 63301).
Lindenwood University will host a day-long “Grow Philanthropy Summit” July 29 for area non-profits, charitable organizations and local business owners and philanthropists to come together and discuss ways in which to better the community through philanthropic strategic partnerships.
The Lou Brock Golf Classic Sept. 27 at Bogey Hills Country Club will benefit athletic scholarships at Lindenwood University.
Lindenwood University will host the Community Council of St. Charles County’s 36th Annual RSVP Appreciation Banquet at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 15, at the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts. The event, titled “Celebrating a Legacy of Service,” will honor more than 300 volunteers age 55 and over who are currently serving a wide range of non-profit organizations in the county.
Dr. Chris Nicastro, Missouri’s commissioner of education, will speak at Lindenwood University at 7 p.m. on June 28 to close out the Lindenwood School of Education’s 2009-10 Speaker Series. The speech, which is free and open to the public, will be in the Bezemes Family Theater, located in the university’s J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts.
Lindenwood University–Belleville has scheduled four guest speakers during June. The presentations are part of the school’s 2010 speaker series and are free and open to the public.
The spring semester may have ended, but the Lindenwood University Theatre Department is still busy rehearsing its next production, the confusingly named “[title of show],” a musical comedy about two playwrights trying to put together a new musical in a hurry. The production will be on stage at Lindenwood’s Emerson Black Box Theater at 7:30 p.m. on June 10, 11 and 12.
Lindenwood University–Belleville will host performances by The Brass Rail Players community theatre group from July, 2010, through April, 2011. Each show in the group’s inaugural season lineup will take place in the university’s auditorium.
At the culmination of a three-year application and review process, the Lindenwood University School of Business and Entrepreneurship was notified Thursday, May 6, 2010, it received accreditation from the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs, the premier accrediting association for business schools and programs with a focus on teaching excellence.
Lindenwood University men’s basketball Coach Brad Soderberg delivered an inspiring address as guest speaker during the 23rd Annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast on May 6 at the St. Charles Convention Center. Sponsored by the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce, the event coincided with the 2010 National Day of Prayer.
