Celebrated poet and lecturer Eugene Redmond will present a reading of his works at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, in the auditorium of the Lindenwood University Cultural Center (400 N. Kingshighway in St. Charles, three blocks north of the main Lindenwood campus).

The executive director for Lindenwood University’s new Center for Fine and Performing Arts started work on site on Feb. 4, but he has been for several months booking acts for the center, which is scheduled to open this summer.

Lindenwood University’s Nonprofit Administration program will launch a new Summer Youth Leadership Conference for high school students interested in pursuing careers in the nonprofit sector. Nominations of service-minded high school juniors and seniors are being accepted from schools or parents through March 1.

Lindenwood University Artist in Residence Rift Fournier and fellow television and film writer Paul Guyot will speak on the recent writer’s strike and future of television and film from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, in the Young Hall Auditorium (room 109) on the main Lindenwood campus—209 S. Kingshighway, St. Charles, Mo.

Lindenwood University has agreed to purchase 65 acres of property north of St. Charles and intends to construct a shooting range for its national champion shooting team. The purchase is contingent on approval of St. Charles County.

Julie Turner, who joined the Non-Profit Administration faculty last summer, has been nominated for an Honors Program Award for service to the community. St. Charles Business Magazine and Commerce Bank announced the nominees Jan. 15.
