The Lindenwood University Department of Nonprofit Administration will hold a Nonprofit Bootcamp on Saturday, April 30, at the university’s Belleville, Ill., campus. Designed for nonprofit professionals interested in building their skills and knowledge base, the event is a follow-up to one held at Lindenwood’s St. Charles, Mo., campus in August.

While pursuing his bachelor’s in business administration at Lindenwood University, Martin O’Brien (’08 and ’09) had aspirations to make his living playing golf. He earned his MBA instead and now runs a successful oyster business at his native Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Nonprofit Administration Students Win National Award
Plaster College of Business and Entrepreneurship

A team of Lindenwood University’s Department of Nonprofit Administration undergraduate students and a faculty member were presented a national award by the Small Business Institute in New Orleans at a conference Feb. 11 to 13.

Adjunct Invited to Help PhD Students with Dissertations in U.K., Will Also Speak in D.C.

Richard Anderson, a Lindenwood University adjunct instructor and senior research fellow for the John W. Hammond Institute for Free Enterprise, will visit Birmingham, England, the week of April 18 to help PhD students with their dissertations. Anderson was invited to join a workshop organized by the Money Macro and Finance Research Group, one of the oldest and most prominent academic associations in Europe. The workshop will bring together a set of global educators to work with a select group of U.K. PhD students at the dissertation stage.

Nursing to Merge with Exercise Science to Form New School
School of Health Sciences

With an eye toward the future, Lindenwood University’s School of Sport, Recreation, and Exercise Science will merge this summer with the School of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences. The two schools, along with the Fire and Paramedic Science Program, will form the new School of Health Sciences.

Morris to Speak in New York on Wall Street Book
Plaster College of Business and Entrepreneurship

Edward Morris, Lindenwood professor of finance and former dean of the Robert W. Plaster School of Business & Entrepreneurship, will be a featured speaker for Columbia University’s Lehman Center at noon on Feb. 16. Morris will speak about his book, Wall Streeters: The Creators and Corruptors of American Finance, which was published in October 2015.

Lindenwood University has announced a new $1,000 'Like No Other' Grant for prospective resident or commuter students who enroll in semester classes and who submit their signed enrollment and financial aid agreements by June 1, 2016. The grant is an incentive for incoming undergraduate applicants to complete the fall semester enrollment process early.

Military Advanced Education & Transition (MAE&T) has awarded Lindenwood University-Belleville a “top school” in its 2016 MAE&T Guide to Colleges & Universities, measuring best practices in military and veteran education. The guide was released late this December and is available online at www.mae-kmi.com.
