Alumni Service Award Recipients Honored

Lindenwood University-Belleville recently selected alumni Stacie Moore of St. Louis, Mo. and Yolanda Weston of Belleville, Ill. as the 2018 Outstanding Belleville Alumni Service Award recipients.

Each spring, the Lindenwood University-Belleville Alumni Relations Office, in coordination with the Office of the Campus President, selects and recognizes up to two members of the Belleville alumni community who have, through volunteer service, stood out among his or her peers by dedicating time to Lindenwood University-Belleville events, student recruitment and retention, promotional tactics, and other general support. An Outstanding Belleville Alumni Service Award winner must be an individual who attended Lindenwood University-Belleville and has established a reputable record of support for the university through volunteer efforts.

According to Jennifer Ferguson, director of alumni relations and special events, over the past academic year, both Moore and Weston served on the leadership team working to strengthen the Belleville Alumni Club.

“Both Stacie and Yolanda have dedicated many volunteer hours over the past academic year to boost the alumni club on the Belleville campus,” said Ferguson. “They’ve spent countless hours planning events, volunteering at those events, recruiting other alumni to become involved, and representing Lindenwood Belleville in the community.”

Ferguson said that with the involvement of Moore and Weston, the group conducted its first alumni service project, donating care packages to Belleville’s Community Assistance Office last December.

“Each year, we continue to grow in both involvement and numbers, and I’m happy to work alongside alumni like Stacie and Yolanda in order to enhance alumni relations programming on our campus,” said Ferguson.

Moore graduated from Lindenwood Belleville’s Accelerated Degree Program with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2016. She is currently an executive assistant for government and public affairs at Enterprise Holdings, where she has been employed since 2000. Weston also graduated from Lindenwood Belleville’s Accelerated Degree Program with a both a masters in counseling (2012) and a master’s in criminal justice administration (2014). She is a congressional support services processor for the U. S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development branch and has worked for the USDA for 21 years.
