August A. Busch III, chairman of the board of Anheuser-Busch Companies, will be the guest speaker for the 176th commencement ceremony May 17 at Lindenwood University. Undergraduate and graduate degrees will be conferred on more than 2,045, making this one of the largest commencement ceremonies in Lindenwood history.
Busch has earned the reputation as one of the most effective executives in American industry by growing the company's business at a rate seldom equaled by major U.S. corporations. He has worked with Anheuser-Busch since 1957.
Sister Mary Jean Ryan, FSM, president and CEO of SSM Healthcare, will be the featured speaker for the baccalaureate service Friday, May 16. Sister Mary Jean has been a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Mary for more than 40 years and has held her current position since 1986.
Undergraduate Heather Shepherd and graduate Amy Patrice Liston will be speaking for the 2003 graduates during Saturday's commencement.
The 2003 Lindenwood University commencement will be held at 10 a.m. on the quadrangle of Lindenwood's main campus in St. Charles. The baccalaureate service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 17, at the Hyland Performance Arena on the Lindenwood campus.
