The Brass Rail Players, a community theatre group, will hold auditions for its summer musical, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, at 6:30 p.m. on May 22 and 23 at the Lindenwood University-Belleville auditorium, at 2600 W. Main St., where the production will be staged from July 25 through 29. The group, which is in its third season, has presented its last several productions in the Lindenwood Belleville auditorium.
The production team includes Director Patrick Donnigan, Music Director Stephen Eros, Vocal Director Jamie Lynn Marble, Choreographer Jeffrey Yapp, Assistant Director Rachel Farrell, Stage Manager Anne Ecker, Costume Manager Cathy Symonds, and Producers Lynn Venhaus and Ryan Norrenberns.
This 1961 show has enjoyed two successful revivals on Broadway and numerous award-winning performances. A wide range of colorful principal parts and substantial ensemble roles is available; a cast description list is available on the Brass Rail Players website and Facebook page.
Donnigan states he is seeking cast members who want to be part of a “fast-paced, high-action, high-volume show.” He can be reached at 618- 578-8574 or firstname.lastname@example.org by anyone seeking additional details. Auditions should consist of 16 to 32 bars of a song, selected by the actor. Actors should bring sheet music; accompaniment will be provided, or actors can sing a capella. Recorded accompaniment is discouraged. Actors will also participate in a simple dance exercise and should wear appropriate footwear. Newcomers and veterans of other community theater groups are welcome.
An audition form can be downloaded and is available online at www.brassrailplayers.org.
