Career Center Adds Online Platform to Arsenal of Resources

The Lindenwood University Career Center has added a powerful web-based tool for use by the university’s students and alumni in their search for employment and internships.

HandshakeHandshake is a web-based career management system that allows the Career Center to provide support to students and alumni 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Currently, more than 3.5 million students and alumni from more than 170 colleges and universities are using the system to connect with more than 120,000 employers, 50 percent of which are Fortune 500 companies.

Career Center Director Dana Wehrli said the Career Center has grown in recent years to better assist students and alumni and Handshake is yet another resource. With Handshake, students and alumni are able to apply for jobs and internships, register for career fairs, and stay up to date on the latest trends in career planning.

“I firmly believe that Lindenwood produces top-notch performers who are ready to make an immediate contribution to the world of work,” Wehrli said. “The transition to Handshake has leveled the playing field for our students and alumni, allowing them to connect with the same employers that recruit at schools like Carnegie Mellon, Princeton, Stanford, and UC Berkeley.”

Employers are invited to use Handshake to find, recruit, and hire top-notch college talent from all over the nation.
