Lindenwood University and St. Louis Community College at Forest Park have signed an agreement that makes it easier for SLCC graduates to obtain at bachelor’s degree in hospitality services management.
The articulation agreement was signed August 22 by Lindenwood President Dennis Spellmann and SLCC President Henry Shannon. Already, five students have enrolled at Lindenwood and will be seeking their bachelor’s degree.
“This is really a great deal for the students,” said Spellmann. “First it provides a bachelor’s degree in this field. There aren’t too many BA options for hospitality services in the entire country. It also gives students the chance to train in a state-of-the-art kitchen and dining facility.”
The degree is available, Spellmann said, in two ways: Though traditional daytime studies or Lindenwood’s adult accelerated evening program.
“We set it up both ways to make it convenient for the food service professionals and the variety of hours they have to work,” said Spellmann.
