Lindenwood University-Belleville Announces Consolidation of Bowling Program

Belleville, Ill. – The Lindenwood University-Belleville athletic department announces the discontinuation of the campus bowling program on the Belleville campus, starting with the fall 2017 semester. The bowling program at the sister campus in St. Charles. Mo. is unaffected by this decision.

“At this time, it is just not a good strategy to have a bowling program at both campuses in the system,” said Campus Athletic Director Ryan Kaiser. “Administrators from both campuses have worked together and determined that the university system will be best served by one bowling team. By consolidating resources, we will make the strongest, most competitive team possible for our student athletes.”

Kaiser said that for students who are currently competing on the Belleville bowling team, financial aid and grant status will not change.

“Although we will no longer house a competitive bowling team on the Belleville campus, we’re encouraging our students to finish their program of study on our campus, but if that is not an option for them, we will work closely with them to assist exploring other options,” said Kaiser.
