Lindenwood University will host a grand opening and open house on Thursday, Jan. 22, for its new site in Downtown St. Louis at 1409 Washington Ave.
Community and university dignitaries will preside over a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m., and representatives will be available to provide tours of the facility during the open house from 3-6 p.m.
The university’s 10th satellite campus is situated in one of the city’s most vibrant loft districts, which has gained renewed popularity in recent years among working professionals.
“With the large number of talented professionals again taking up residence in the city, we feel the Washington Avenue campus will serve a vital need for higher education services in the downtown area,” said Lindenwood President James D. Evans.
The extension campus features newly constructed classrooms with Internet access and other high-tech features. Classes offered at the new facility will include undergraduate courses in communications and graduate programs in business, communications, and human resources. All classes will be offered through Lindenwood’s College for Individual Education (LCIE) program, an accelerated format designed for working adults.
