Plaster School
of Business Earns CFA Institute Endorsement

Lindenwood University announces its Plaster School of Business finance programs have been endorsed by the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program, making the university one of only four in Missouri to achieve that distinction.

Included degree programs are a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and Master of Science in finance.

Roger Ellis, dean of the university’s Robert W. Plaster School of Business & Entrepreneurship, said the confirmation by the well-respected professional organization, which is the largest association of investment professionals in the world, is extremely valuable to both the university and its students.

“First, it’s a prestigious recognition for our programs, curriculum, and faculty to be sanctioned by people working in the finance field, such as certified financial planners and chartered financial analysts,” said Ellis. “This also provides opportunities for our students, as there are scholarships and CFA program assistance provided.”

Through the affiliation with the CFA institute, Lindenwood University

  • Will be listed on the CFA Institute website as an associated institution
  • Is entitled to award CFA Program Awareness Scholarships with 10 allocated for the 2017-18 school year
  • Is entitled to receive the eBook curriculum for all three levels of the CFA program
  • Is entitled to receive sample exams for all three levels of the CFA program
  • Will receive complimentary access to the Financial Analysts Journal® and CFA Institute Magazine

The CFA Institute has 120,000 members globally in 140 countries, but it is affiliated with only four universities in the state of Missouri. According to group members, the chartered financial analyst certification–or CFA–is the most-respected designation an investment professional can earn.

According to the organization’s website, it’s mission is to help develop highly-educated, extremely ethical, client-centered financial planners.

“We are driven by the belief that lasting economic growth depends on trust, competence, and transparency in financial markets, and we know that it must be led by professionals who are ethically centered and professionally trained,” states the CFA Institute’s mission statement. “In short, we are here to lead, support, and connect all who want to create a better investment industry.”

“Lindenwood University and Plaster School of Business leaders look forward to this partnership to ensure the highest-quality education possible for our students,” Ellis said.
