Public is Invited to September 11 Event on Campus

Lindenwood University in Belleville will pay tribute to the victims lost in terrorist attacks made on the nation eight years ago in a special ceremony at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11. Following a brief ceremony, the Lindenwood Lynx soccer team will present Belleville Police and Fire Department personnel with American flags.

“We want to take a few moments to honor the lives of those who were lost, as well as those who fought to save others after the attacks,” said Mary Radcliff, assistant vice president and executive director of community relations at the Belleville campus. “The ceremony is also a way for us to thank the first responders in our own community for keeping us protected in the face of danger.”

The free, public event will take place in the Belleville campus parking lot located at the corner of West Main and South 23rd Streets. The location will be marked by a fire truck with a fully extended ladder displaying a large American flag.
