The overall field included teams from 20 colleges and universities from throughout the state, including Saint Louis University, University of Central Missouri, University of Missouri—Kansas City, and Missouri University of Science and Technology.

The competition is held prior to the annual Missouri section meeting of the Mathematical Association of America and consists of challenging mathematical problems based on differential and integral calculus, geometry, number theory, and discrete mathematics. Lindenwood began participating in the competition last year.

“The Department of Mathematics is proud of the achievement of our team,” said Dr. Wojciech Golik, chair of the Mathematics Department at Lindenwood. “Our students showed a great deal of talent, hard work, and dedication in preparing for the competition. Their performance is a reflection of the quality of the Lindenwood mathematics program.”
