Broadcasting Program Receives Top Honors

Lindenwood University's National Broadcasting Society chapter was named "Model Chapter" for the third year in a row at the NBS national convention March 14-17 in Los Angeles.

The chapter also won a community service award for its outstanding services. Chapter member Jen Kerner was awarded an Honorable Mention for her entry in experimental audio. Chapter president Angela Cobb received the John Kurtz Scholarship.

In addition, Chapter Advisor Glen Cerny, communications instructor and general manager for KCLC 89.1 FM, was named advisor of the year.

"This is a clear indication that Lindenwood University can provide a quality program when we are consistently competing with schools like the University of Florida and University of Miama," said Cerny.

There were 500 students from across the nation attending the convention, 12 of which were from Lindenwood. Students were able to obtain advice and talk firsthand with professionals in the field of communications.
