Finals at 6:30 p.m.; Lindenwood Third

Southern Oregon holds a slim lead going into tonight's championship round of the NAIA Wrestling National Championships at Lindenwood University.

Southern Oregon has 148 points and four wrestlers in the finals. Trailing them is Missouri Valley with 141.5 points. Lindenwood is third.

The finals start at 6:30 p.m. Tickets remain available.

Wrestling for the national championship at 133 pounds tonight for Lindenwood will be C.J. Campbell, a junior from Blackfoot, Idaho. He faces Brian Biel of University of Mary.

Seeking the national championship at 141 pounds is St. Charles native Tim Michel, a junior. He will face Jeremy Wynia of Southern Oregon.

Lindenwood's Josh Buchanan, a 125-pound sophomore, finished seventh.

Brant Bruner, a sophomore from Claremore, Okla., and last year's national champion at 125 pounds, finished third this year at 133.

At 149 pounds, Lindenwood's Jeff Carlson, a sophomore from Kinsley, KN, was third. His teammate, Jason Fox, a junior from Atlanta, was fifth at 149.

Lindenwood's Nathan James, a junior from El Reno, Okla., finished fifth at 174 pounds.
