Future Educators co-host "Hall of Authors"

The Future Educator’s Association at Lindenwood Belleville, in association with the Lewis and Clark Reading Council, will host “Hall of Authors” Tuesday Nov. 28, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the O’Fallon Public Library, 120 Civic Plaza, O’Fallon, Ill.

For this event, attendees will have a chance to meet children’s authors Jeff Weigel, Dan Killeen, and Jennifer Ward, who will also read their books for the audience at this family friendly event. This event is free and open to the public.

“Getting up-close and personal with authors engages future classroom students of our teacher candidates,” said Associate Professor of Education Leadership Dr. Stephanie Yearian. “Young readers are then more apt to read a series of books by familiar authors and seek authors’ purpose within the story text. Authors’ writing provides good mentor text for young readers and writers.”

For more information, contact Associate Professor of Education Leadership Dr. Stephanie Yearian at (618) 239 6096 or SYearian@lindenwood.edu.
