I-70 Construction Delays Expected in St. Charles

Students and adjunct instructors commuting to Lindenwood University’s St. Charles campus on westbound Interstate 70 will soon experience construction delays approaching Route 94.

Drivers are encouraged to allow for extra time or seek an alternate route beginning March 21. The Missouri Department of Transportation will begin work narrowing and shifting westbound lanes in the area, restriping, and setting concrete barriers. The two right lanes on westbound I-70 will close, but the exit will remain open.

This project is part of $20 million in road improvements in the area, the largest of which is a diverging-diamond interchange at 5th Street and Interstate 70. The entire project should be complete by spring 2017, according to MoDOT.
