Mark Kern, newly elected County Board Chairman in St. Clair County, IL and a member of the Lindenwood University Board of Directors will be the guest speaker for the Lindenwood University’s 178th commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 14. Undergraduate and graduate degrees will be conferred on more than 2,250 students.
Before his election as County Board Chairman, Kern served as Mayor of Belleville, IL where he earned a reputation as a champion of progress. Kern was instrumental in helping Lindenwood open its campus in Belleville, which is paving the way for a redevelopment of West Main Street.
The Rev. Gary Meyers, senior pastor at Dardenne Presbyterian Church, will be the featured speaker for the baccalaureate service Friday, May 13. Rev. Meyers is a local civic leader.
Undergraduates will receive their diplomas Saturday morning in the Hyland Performance Arena, while graduates will march in the Performance Arena Friday evening during the baccalaureate service at 7:30 p.m.
