Lindenwood University has been named a host venue for the region’s First St. Louis Film Conference. Presentations and panel discussion will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, in the Emerson Black Box Theater and Charter Communications LUTV HD Studio, located in the university’s J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts.
Events will include production presentations and panel discussions by area film educators, representatives from film organizations, and filmmakers. The goal is to recognize the availability and quality of film education in the St. Louis area and to encourage those entering the field to study and develop within the region’s filmmaking community. Planners intend to hold the conference annually.
Other conference sessions are scheduled on Friday, Oct. 16, and Friday, Oct. 23, at Washington University; and on Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Belleville campus of Southwestern Illinois College.
All events are free and open to the public, but space is limited and reservations are required. To make a reservation or to learn more about the First Annual St. Louis Film Conference, e-mail StLouisfilmconference@gmail.com or visit online at http://sites.google.com/site/stlouisfilmconference/.
