Lindenwood University and Forest Park Community College have entered into a unique partnership that will allow students to earn a bachelor’s degree in mortuary management.
Representatives from both institutions have signed an articulation agreement that seeks to assist students in making a “seamless transfer” from the associate to the baccalaureate degree.
Under the cooperative agreement, students studying funeral service at the community college would begin studying at Lindenwood after earning an associate’s degree in Applied Science in Funeral Service.
Years three and four would be completed at Lindenwood, as the students study in a variety of general education areas such as statistics, marketing, accounting, management and humanities.
"Not only is this unique because of the public-private partnership, but this helps avoid duplication in higher education in Missouri,” said Lindenwood President Dennis Spellmann. “This type of cooperation is something that is needed in Missouri. The bottom line is this type of effort keeps things affordable and accessible for students in this region.”
