Lindenwood University’s spring commencement exercises will be held on Friday, May 15, and Saturday, May 16, with more than 1,170 graduates slated to participate. More than 1,900 degrees will be conferred in the ceremonies.
Undergraduate Commencement will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, while Baccalaureate and Graduate Commencement will be at 7 p.m., Friday, May 15. Both ceremonies will be at the Family Arena, at 2002 Arena Parkway in St. Charles, and are open to the public.
The keynote speaker for the undergraduate ceremony will be Penny Pennington, principal at the Edward Jones Company, and the speaker for the graduate ceremony will be Sean O’Donnell, vice president and general manager for Charter Communications.
The ceremony will also be the final one for Lindenwood University President James D. Evans, who is retiring after nine years in the president’s office and 40 years at the university.
Of the 1,094 bachelor’s degrees that will conferred at the ceremony, 577 will be Bachelor of Arts, 38 will be Bachelor of Fine Arts, 464 will be Bachelor of Science, and 15 will be Bachelor of Social Work. Of the 870 graduate degrees conferred, 27 will be Doctor of Education degrees and 66 will be Educational Specialist degrees, with the remainder being among six different master’s degrees.
Lindenwood University, founded in 1827, is an independent liberal arts university offering more than 200 graduate and undergraduate programs in diverse areas of study in traditional and accelerated formats. Lindenwood operates residential campuses in St. Charles, Mo., and Belleville, Ill., as well as numerous extension sites throughout the St. Louis region.
