Lindenwood University’s 2012-2013 Nonprofit Professional Development Series will continue with two presentations scheduled in February. “Maximizing Nonprofit Collaborations” will be on Wednesday, Feb. 6, and “Cause Marketing” will be on Wednesday, Feb. 20. Both take place from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the Memorial Arts Building’s Latzer Hall.
The first workshop will include discussion on best practices for common types of collaborations found within nonprofits, including mergers, shared resources, fiscal sponsorships, and joint program alliances. The presentation will be delivered by Chris Miller, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Mission Center, which educates nonprofit professionals, board members, and donors on the creation more efficient, effective, and sustainable organizations.
The presentation on Feb. 20 will cover the alignment of corporate and social sectors in order to reach common goals, including raising awareness, generating funds, and building organizational reputations. The address will be given by Kristin Williams, Executive Director of the St. Charles City-County Library Foundation, and Victoria Schmitt Babb, Community Engagement Director of Unlimited Play.
The Memorial Arts Building is located on Lindenwood’s main St. Charles campus. The cost to attend is $15 per individual workshop in advance or $25 at the door if space permits.
