The Lindenwood University Student Human Resources Club will hold a free community event, Support our Local Heroes, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, on the parking lot of Harmon Hall on the Lindenwood campus in St. Charles.
Representatives of various first-responder groups will be on hand to visit with and take photos with the public, including police, fire, and EMS personnel, including an air ambulance.
Visitors can enjoy games, music, and a trivia contest and get free t-shirts while supplies last, as well as learn about the Backstoppers, a St. Louis-based organization that provides assistance to the immediate families of police, fire, and EMS personnel who have died in the line of duty, as well as to first responders who have suffered catastrophic injuries in the line of duty.
“This will be a family-friendly, student-friendly event to honor our local first responders, complete with a close-up look at emergency vehicles, local heroes, and games to win free t-shirts,” said Dr. Evelyn Hendrix, chair of the Department of Human Resources. “The LU Student HR Club is honored to be chosen to host this fun event with BackStoppers.”
Lindenwood University’s St. Charles campus is located at 209 S. Kingshighway.
