Summer Classes to be Held Virtually Due to Continuing COVID-19 Threat

Due to ongoing developments with the COVID-19 pandemic, no on-ground classes will be held on campus at Lindenwood during the summer 2020 terms, including summer semester, MBA (five-term), and trimester. An email announcing the decision was distributed Tuesday afternoon, April 7, from Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Marilyn Abbott to students, faculty, staff, and parents.

No classes will be offered on campus in a seated format through August 9, 2020; however, Lindenwood will offer many courses online this summer. Courses that were scheduled on ground may either be combined with previously scheduled online sections of the same course, or they may remain on the schedule but shift to a virtual learning environment. Adjustments to the summer schedule will be complete and available in the student portal by April 17. Students enrolled in on-ground classes that shift to the virtual format will not have to make a schedule change.

The email also addressed summer internships and practicums, which may continue off campus, and study abroad opportunities, which are canceled for the summer. The email may be viewed in its entirety at www.lindenwood.edu/coronavirus or directly at this location.

“Like you, we are disappointed that we won’t be able to welcome students onto campus again this summer,” Abbott said in the email. “We hope to see you on campus again soon.”
