University Fundraising Surpasses $6 Million for 2022 Fiscal Year

From our numerous awards as a college of distinction, to our cutting-edge academic programming and our recent elevation to the NCAA’s highest level of competition, excellence is evident in every corner of Lindenwood’s campus and the University’s fundraising year is certainly no exception.

Thanks to the generosity of alumni and friends this fiscal year, which ran July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2022, Lindenwood celebrated the second-best fundraising year in its almost 200-year history raising more than $6.3 million. This figure represents a 220 percent increase from the previous fiscal year and is second only to the $8.5 million raised in fiscal 2015. That year included Lindenwood’s largest single gift, a $4.4 million contribution from the Robert W. Plaster Foundation to name the College of Business and Entrepreneurship.

Within this year’s total, nearly $2 million was raised for scholarship aid including new awards in support of the proposed undergraduate nursing program, women studying cyber security and a full scholarship for the women’s golf program.

“We accomplish amazing things at Lindenwood when we work together and keep our students at the forefront of what we do,” President Dr. John Porter said. “Congratulations to the staff who lead our fundraising efforts and thank you to each person who made a gift this fiscal year. Every gift and every donor is crucial in helping us become the university our students, faculty, staff and alumni deserve.”

Two new annual giving programs, the 1827 Society and Lions Booster Club, designed to drive annual gifts to academics and athletics respectively debuted in Fiscal 2022. These programs, along with a record-breaking Giving Week which saw 428 donors give over $125,000, helped lead the way for some staggering gains in new donors with 1,748 individuals making their first gift to Lindenwood, a 420 percent increase from the previous year. Total donors to Lindenwood were up 169 percent from Fiscal 2021.

“One of our priorities as an advancement team is to broaden our base of support,” Vice President of Advancement and Community Engagement Orrie Covert said. “And seeing this many of our alumni and friends willing to engage with their university and share their time and treasure to help shape its future is truly gratifying.”

This year, donors gave to every area of campus, including some targeted academic and athletic programming and capital projects through the New Horizons Initiative which raised just over $2 million in Fiscal 2022.

Lindenwood University is excited to build on this momentum and continue the work of enhancing student lives through quality education and professional preparatory experiences. We are only able to do so because of the overwhelming generosity of our Lindenwood family. Learn more about how you can impact student-success or make your gift online.
