Vocal Group Voices Only to Hold Concert on May 6

Lindenwood University’s School of Fine and Performing Arts will present a concert by its a capella group Voices Only at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, at the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts.

The concert will be held in the 250-seat Emerson Black Box Theater; admission is free. The Scheidegger Center is located on Lindenwood’s St. Charles campus at 2300 West Clay Street, just west of First Capitol Drive.

“Voices Only will showcase music in a variety of styles, from European Renaissance madrigals to vocal jazz,” said Pam Grooms, director of vocal music programs at Lindenwood. “The Emerson Black Box Theater will provide an intimate concert setting and is perfect for an A cappella concert. Our students are very excited to perform for peers, faculty, family, friends and the community in this wonderful venue.”

Voices Only is a 17-voice auditioned ensemble, providing alma mater and National Anthems at selected athletic events as well as entertainment at community events in St. Charles and St. Louis Counties. The group has performed at many community functions this year, including the St. Charles Christian Men's Ministry Breakfast performance to over 800 people, and the St. Charles County Volunteer Recognition luncheon with an audience of over 500.
