Lindenwood University in Belleville has announced it will be adding women’s volleyball this fall--the school’s inaugural year as a daytime college. Veronica Kirkpatrick is the new head coach for the Lynx volleyball program.
“I am excited to work with the Belleville staff in developing this new program," said Kirkpatrick. "I hope to use my knowledge of the area to find local talent and build a successful program.”
Kirkpatrick is a former volleyball player at Danville Area Community College. She received her undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and will graduate from McKendree University this month with her Masters.
The women’s volleyball team is the third athletic program that will compete at Lindenwood next season, joining men’s and women’s soccer. All three programs will compete in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). The USCAA is a national organization that provides athletic competition on a regional and national level for smaller institutions of higher learning.
