Lindenwood University’s annual Homecoming, Reunion, and Parents’ Weekend is scheduled to take place Oct. 19-20 on the school’s St. Charles campus. The weekend will offer something for everyone through nearly two dozen scheduled activities, sporting events, and gatherings.
Friday’s events will include presentations on Lindenwood’s history, walking and bus tours of the campus, and guided tours of the new Student-Athlete Center. The day will end with an alumni and parent reception, a pep rally, and the Athletics Hall of Fame dinner.
Saturday will begin with the Race to be King 5K run and walk to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of St. Charles County and the Mike Kowaleski Book Fund. Entry fees are $15 in advance and $20 at the event.
Breakfast with Lindenwood President James D. Evans is also scheduled for Saturday morning, prior to the Homecoming parade at 10 a.m. A barbecue and pre-game festivities will start at 11 a.m. before the football game against Washburn University, which will kick off at 1:30 p.m. at Hunter Stadium.
Many other activities, such as a Roy Clark concert, the student Homecoming dance, and various sporting events and presentations, will also take place throughout the weekend. A lineup of events is also scheduled for the week prior to Homecoming, including a rock concert featuring the bands The Maine and Mayday Parade as headliners.
“Homecoming has always been an exciting tradition at Lindenwood, but this year we’ve expanded it even further,” said Elizabeth King, Director of Alumni Relations at the University. “We’re looking forward to having our alumni and friends make it back to campus to see for themselves all that the new LU has to offer.”
