Lindenwood University will host a Character in Sports Conference April 27-28 for coaches in high schools, middle schools and area youth organizations throughout the St. Louis metro area.
Featured speaker for the conference will be Bruce Brown, president of Proactive Coaching, who will discuss “The Coach’s Role in Building Character.” Brown has helped athletic programs throughout the nation integrate character development into competitive sports programs.
Friday's 9 a.m. session is for Lindenwood students and coaches.
A special session on Saturday morning will focus directly on high school-aged athletes and others interested in high school sports programs. Special interest groups and focus groups will be conducted Saturday afternoon for graduate credit.
Lindenwood, one of the nation’s leaders in character education with its Center for the Study of American Culture and Values, will conduct the conference in the Hyland Performance Arena on the University campus.
