Lindenwood University’s music program will offer its fall orchestra, jazz, and choral concerts at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 4, 5, and 6, respectively, in the university’s 1,200-seat Bezemes Family Theater. Admission to all three concerts is free and open to the public.
The Bezemes Family Theater is located in the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts, located on the main Lindenwood campus at 2300 West Clay St., one block west of First Capitol Drive in St. Charles.
The Lindenwood University Symphonic Orchestra Concert, at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4, will include performances of Giacchino Rossini’s The Thieving Magpie, Alexander Glazunov’s Reverie, and Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1, conducted by Maestro Shane Williams.
The Jazz Concert, at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5, will include performances by the Lindenwood University Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Lorenzo Trujillo, as well as some special guest performances by the United States Air Force Shades of Blue Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of MSgt. Rick Thorp, and the Webster Groves High School Jazz Ensemble #1, under the direction of Kevin Cole. All three bands will be presenting repertoire ranging from traditional big band and swing to modern jazz.
The Choir Concert, at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, will include an eclectic set of music, from European classical to modern American songs. The choirs, including the University Chorus, Concert Choir, and Voices Only, will perform the music of Brahms, Gounod, Billy Joel, and the Beatles.
