The plays is directed by Larry D. Quiggins, director of the Theatre Department at Lindenwood, and adapted for the stage by Patricia Gray. This timeless tale revolves around the title character, Bilbo Baggins, who lives a quiet, peaceful life in his comfortable hole at Bag End in the Shire until his comfort is shattered by the arrival of the old wizard Gandalf. The wizard persuades Bilbo to set out on an adventure, which is highly unusual for a hobbit, with a group of militant dwarves, who are embarking on a quest to reclaim their treasure from the marauding dragon Smaug. On Gandalf’s recommendation, they expect Bilbo to be their thief.

“‘The Hobbit’ is a delightful fantasy for the entire family,” Quiggins said. “Come join Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf the wizard, and the dwarves for an adventure of a lifetime!”

The assistant director is Lindsay Bartlett. Stage manager is Tara Queen. Assistant stage manager if Sammi Saffron.
