Monthly Service Opportunities

Lindenwood’s Newman Center strives to better our community and promote peace through a variety of different service projects and events throughout the school year. Every month, students come together to serve the body of Christ. To request a service event or receive more information, email Shannon Douglas at

Alternative Spring Break Mission Trip

For the past couple of years, the Newman Center has taken groups of 25-30 students to McKee, Kentucky for a week of prayer, service, and fun. Our students serve the residents of Jackson County by blazing and clearing trails, visiting elderly, re-stocking food banks shelves, reading and playing with children at after-school care, and much more. In our spare time, the students enjoy swimming in the lake, hiking, canoeing, and gathering around a campfire under the stars. This year’s Alternative Spring Break trip will be March 28- April 2

Defending Life

Every January, students from our Newman Center journey together to Washington D.C. for the Annual Pro-Life March to defend the unborn and their right to life. Please join us for next year’s March for Life!

The Newman Center also offers information about local pregnancy help centers. If you or anyone you know is dealing with an unplanned pregnancy and would like resources about local pregnancy help centers, please stop by the Newman Center to grab some brochures.

Meaningful Conversations

Lindenwood University is blessed to be part of such a diverse and cultured campus. Our Newman Center has responded to this by welcoming students of every race and nationality into our community. As a result, our Newman Center is deeply concerned about international injustices such as immigration, violence within countries like Venezuela, and issues of race within our own cities. We strive to raise awareness by hosting talks, celebrating Mass for special intentions, and hosting meaningful discussions at the Newman Center to better support our brothers and sisters within our community and throughout our world. Please check out our Upcoming Events to see what events are coming up.
