Due to the uniqueness of the current COVID-19 climate there will be no group exercise classes offered immediately upon the start of the fall semester. Options are being explored for classes and will be announced at a later date.
We provide and extend exercise classes during the week for Lindenwood student, faculty, and staff. Classes are free of charge. No sign up is necessary. Feel free to attend as many or as few sessions as you'd like!
Current Offerings Include:
Zumba: Zumba is a fusion of Latin and International music/dance themes that create a dynamic and exciting workout environment. All workouts are based on the principle that a workout should be "fun and welcoming for everyone." Routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Zumba is a workout that is great for both the body and the mind!
Spinning: A fun, heart-pumping workout! Ride on the flats, up hills, through rolling hills led by a certified instructor motivated by great music. Spinning is perfect for everyone since you control the resistance and pedal speed creating just the right intensity for you. Beginners are welcome at all classes.
Beginner's Yoga: This class will focus on the basics of yoga postures. The core actions help with opening the body and focusing on breathing techniques. Participants learn techniques and proper alignment.
Intermediate Yoga: Love the Beginner’s Yoga? Want to take a step up? Then Intermediate Yoga is here. This class will reinforce the basics and include challenging moving and static postures and sequences. This class will challenge the participants in a fun and non-competitive atmosphere.
Turbo Kick: A combo of intense kickboxing & dance moves all choreographed to high energy, motivating music. It's the ultimate cardio challenge that's a unique blend of strength & endurance training & a relaxing cool down. All fitness levels welcome!
HIIT Camp: Brought to you by UFC Gym, HIIT Camp incorporates exercises and drills designed to enhance agility, speed, power, strength, and quickness. You’ll move around the room or court to different stations. HIIT Camp works you from head to toe so you’ll be ready for anything life brings. All fitness levels welcome!
Power Yoga:This class is an hour of fun and power. Power yoga is a flow/form class that works for all levels of practitioners, from beginners to experienced.
Cardio Kickboxing: This class will focus on achieving a great workout while building endurance and coordination from various kickboxing techniques. Gloves are needed for this class as we will be hitting pads. Each class has a routine warm up and cool down but different core training each week. We may focus on just bags one day, legs one day, arms etc. This is a fast pace workout and a lot of fun!
Self Defense: This class is designed to teach the university population self-defense techniques to help in a variety of threatening situations. No equipment needed for this class. You will refresh weekly on what we learned the previous week and learn new techniques weekly. This is a moderate endurance class. There will be some pad hitting and this is a partner based class.
Deep Stretch: This class emphasizes on postures to stretch, open and release the major muscle groups of the entire body. Great for all levels this mellow class focuses on releasing tension and connecting with the breath.
