Group Exercise Classes

We provide and extend exercise classes during the week for Lindenwood student, faculty, and staff.  Classes are free of charge. No sign up is necessary.  Feel free to attend as many or as few sessions as you'd like!

Current Offerings Include:

Zumba:  Zumba is a fusion of Latin and International music/dance themes that create a dynamic and exciting workout environment. All workouts are based on the principle that a workout should be "fun and welcoming for everyone." Routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body.  Zumba is a workout that is great for both the body and the mind!

Spinning: A fun, heart-pumping workout! Ride on the flats, up hills, through rolling hills led by a certified instructor motivated by great music.  Spinning is perfect for everyone since you control the resistance and pedal speed creating just the right intensity for you. Beginners are welcome at all classes.

Beginner's Yoga: This class will focus on the basics of yoga postures. The core actions help with opening the body and focusing on breathing techniques. Participants learn techniques and proper alignment.

Intermediate Yoga: Love the Beginner’s Yoga? Want to take a step up? Then Intermediate Yoga is here. This class will reinforce the basics and include challenging moving and static postures and sequences. This class will challenge the participants in a fun and non-competitive atmosphere.  

Turbo Kick:  A combo of intense kickboxing & dance moves all choreographed to high energy, motivating music.  It's the ultimate cardio challenge that's a unique blend of strength & endurance training & a relaxing cool down. All fitness levels welcome!

HIIT Camp: Brought to you by UFC Gym, HIIT Camp incorporates exercises and drills designed to enhance agility, speed, power, strength, and quickness. You’ll move around the room or court to different stations. HIIT Camp works you from head to toe so you’ll be ready for anything life brings. All fitness levels welcome!

Kickboxing: Fighting Fit is a cardio kickboxing program created by world kickboxing champion, Dan Isaac. This 60-minute workout will cover choreographed combinations of punches and kicks set to the latest music tracks, as well as drills using boxing gloves and coach mitts. If you are interested in challenging yourself, this is the class you want to be in!

PiYo: PiYo is a total-body fitness system designed to whip you into shape from head to toe. It combines the practices of Pilates and yoga to help you build strength, lose weight, increase flexibility and have a great time doing it. 

Boxing Fundamentals: An hours' worth of training for shadow boxing, footwork and drills, combinations and mitt work, and controlled contact sparring all under the watchful supervision and instruction of former and undefeated world champion, Dan Isaac. Boxing gloves, hand wraps, and mouthpieces are mandatory for this class. Specially designed for those serious to train boxing. The Rec Center front desk has boxing gloves available on a first-come, first-served basis.
