Chi Sigma Iota (CSI) is an international honor society for students, professional counselors and counselor educators. Chi Sigma Iota's mission is to promote scholarship, research, professionalism, leadership and excellence in counseling, and to recognize high attainment in the pursuit of academic and clinical excellence in the profession of counseling. Chi Sigma Iota was established at Ohio University in 1985. Lambda Chi, the regional chapter of Chi Sigma Iota, was established at Lindenwood University in 1995.

Membership in Chi Sigma Iota is by invitation only. Students of counselor education programs may be invited to join. Students must have completed at least 18 hours of graduate coursework in a counselor education degree program and have earned a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. An annual induction ceremony is held in the spring for new members. Eligible students receive an invitation to membership and information regarding participation in the induction ceremony.
