Safe Zone Trainings

Safe Zone Training
This 2-hour, interactive, virtual training session will help the training participants understand how to support and advocate for LGBTQ+ students, faculty, and staff. Participants will examine LGBTQ+ identities, gender, and sexuality. Training participants will discover campus resources and strategies to apply what they learned to their environment in order to identify and challenge their own bias.

Safe Zone 2.0 Training
This 1-hour, interactive, virtual training session has been designed for people who have completed Safe Zone training. Safe Zone 2.0 will focus on the current issues and laws that are impacting the LGBTQ+ community, examine prejudice and privilege, and give participants an opportunity to complete various scenarios.

Bias Trainings

Anti-Racist Workshop
This 1-hour, interactive, virtual workshop will discover the harms of racism and colonialism and introduce anti-racist and decolonization strategies as well as introduce participants to other campus resources and community for continued learning.

Anti-Racism Pedagogy: Discovery & Deployment (Faculty)
This 1-hour, interactive, virtual workshop will discover the harms of racism and colonialism in pedagogy and deploy anti-racist and decolonization strategies in pedagogy as well as keep adjunct faculty connected to campus resources and community for continued learning. Resources for workshop delivery are Mentimeter and workbook.

Cross-Cultural Bias Training
This 1-hour, interactive, virtual training session will help the training participants develop an awareness of how cross-cultural bias can impact those around them from different cultures. Training participants will discover campus resources and strategies to apply what they learned to their environment in order to identify and challenge their own cross-cultural bias.

disAbility Bias Training
This 1-hour, interactive, virtual training session will help the training participants develop an awareness of how disAbility bias can impact those around them with different abilities or disAbilities. Training participants will discover campus resources and strategies to apply what they learned to their environment in order to identify and challenge their own disAbility bias.

Gender Bias Training
This 1-hour, interactive, virtual training session will help the training participants develop an awareness of how gender bias can impact those around them with different genders. Training participants will discover campus resources and strategies to apply what they learned to their environment in order to identify and challenge their own gender bias.

Implicit Bias Training
This 2-hour, interactive, virtual training session is designed to define implicit bias, demonstrate common forms of implicit bias and the potential impact on the university community, provide resources on campus, and allow participants to examine their own assumptions and privilege.

Socioeconomic Status (SES) Bias Training
This 1-hour, interactive, virtual training session will help the training participants develop an awareness of how SES bias can impact those around them with different socioeconomic statuses. Training participants will discover campus resources and strategies to apply what they learned to their environment in order to identify and challenge their own socioeconomic status bias.

Spiritual/Religious Bias Training
This 1-hour, interactive, virtual training session will help the training participants develop an awareness of how spiritual/religious bias can impact those around them who practice different spiritualties or religions. Training participants will discover campus resources and strategies to apply what they learned to their environment in order to identify and challenge their own spiritual/religious bias.
