Make sure all components of the application are accounted for – do not leave anything out! (If something is missing or results are pending, please include a letter of intent explaining why the item is missing and when it will be submitted)

Applications must be complete before a request for a placement will be made to a school district.

Times: 2-4 or 6-8 P.M. (students select one session to attend)

Please plan accordingly, as attendance is absolutely essential and mandatory!

Students with missing application components or results at the time of the meeting are still required to attend.

Though every effort will be made, a student teaching placement for the fall can no longer be guaranteed if these pending results/components are not received in the Education Office by the date of this meeting!

Please be cautioned a back-up plan for the fall may be beneficial in the occasion area school districts have filled all available student teaching positions.

The School of Education agrees that the general outcome of the teacher education program must be teaching professionals that believe and implement teaching as a blend of “Art” and “Science” as represented by the Beauty and Mechanism of the Spellmann Clock Tower… Teaching as an art because teaching is a craft that must be learned and applied in an authentic environment. Teaching as a science because it must be influenced by research and best practice for optimal student learning to be achieved... The conceptual framework for Lindenwood University Teacher Preparation Program is driven by the Mission Statement of the University and the eleven Standards for Beginning Teachers in Missouri.
