Elevate Leadership Certification

Lindenwood’s Elevate Leadership Certification is a self-designed, co-curricular experience that students can structure around their own interests and career goals. This certification is designed to encourage and reward students for their involvement and leadership at Lindenwood and help them connect their out-of-class experiences with their academic ones.

The Elevate Leadership Certification is a self-paced model, although most students should be able to complete it within two semesters or one academic year. Students will choose experiences to complete within various categories and will reflect on those experiences throughout the process. These reflections, along with other materials collected, will be compiled in a Leadership Portfolio which students will present to a staff member once completed. Students will also be required to select a mentor whom they will meet with a minimum of three times throughout their leadership journey.

While we prefer for students to apply to the program at the beginning of their leadership journey, we will also accept applications from students who have already completed some of the required experiences. Students will still need to write thoughtful and meaningful reflections on the experiences they have completed. Transfer students may also use the experiences they have gained from other institutions.

How to Apply

Students will submit an application found in Involve U under "Forms."  Once your application has been submitted, you will set up a time to meet with a Student Involvement staff member who will discuss the requirements of the certification and answer any questions you may have.  After meeting with a staff member, you will then be able to begin tracking your leadership experiences through Involve U.

Dining with Lions

Dining with Lions is an hour-long session where Lindenwood alumni are invited to campus to talk to current students about their experiences. Please see Involve U for date/time/location/presenters and to RSVP for these events.

Leadership Team Building Activities

The Office of Student Involvement offers a variety of team building activities available to all student organizations. These activities range from simple ice breakers and name games all the way to complex team building activities centered around conflict resolution, time management, communication, and much more. With over 100 activities available, there is something to fit all of your organization’s needs.

Need help selecting an activity or want someone with a little more experienced to assist you with facilitating it? Ask one of our Student Involvement staff members! We are happy to sit down and help you pick out the perfect activity for your team or come to one of your meetings and run the activity for you.
