Student Testimonials
Kristina Byers
“I am a high school art educator dedicated to bringing art appreciation and art history into a curriculum where they were previously absent. In addition to teaching, I intern as a fine arts TA each summer, helping students bridge the gap between secondary and higher education. I’ve built relationships with local colleges and universities to provide my students with firsthand experiences in arts and culture at the collegiate level, and I’ve founded a chapter of the National Art Honor Society to recognize and celebrate the achievements of students balancing art and academics. Through my work as an arts advocate, I was elected as a board member of the Mineral Area Council on the Arts, where I also work to expand arts access and engagement throughout my community as a whole. ”
